Terms of service
Effective October 3, 2026
The directory
PickOpenSource publishes editorial summaries to help people compare software. Project names, marks, and logos belong to their respective owners. A listing or comparison does not imply affiliation, endorsement, or approval by that owner. Paid placements are labelled and kept outside organic ranking.
Catalog facts can become outdated. Repository activity, star counts, and licenses include an October 1, 2026 snapshot. Verify current facts, the repository license, and security requirements with the project before relying on a listing. We do not guarantee that a project is safe, maintained, suitable for your use, or available.
Submissions and claims
You may submit or edit content only if you have the right to do so. Keep descriptions factual and do not upload copied marketing text, misleading claims, or material that infringes someone else's rights. You give PickOpenSource permission to host, display, and edit the material you submit for the directory and its promotion. You keep ownership of your material. We may review, correct, reject, or remove submissions and claims.
Paid products
Prices and the included features are shown before checkout. Maintainer adds listing extras for one catalog project. Standard, Plus, and Max include directory analytics and listing extras for claimed catalog projects, plus labelled ad placement. An ad may promote a product outside the open-source catalog; it does not create a directory listing. A newsletter slot is one sponsored mention in one issue. These products do not buy organic rank, a security endorsement, a fixed number of views or clicks, or any business result.
Each purchase covers the selected week, calendar month, calendar year, or newsletter issue. Catalog plan access starts when payment is confirmed. Ads for products outside the catalog require editorial approval before display, and we may reject misleading, unlawful, or infringing copy. Plans do not renew automatically through this site; another term requires another purchase. A newsletter booking depends on the next available issue and editorial review. If we cannot provide a paid product, contact us for a remedy or refund.
Dodo Payments processes checkout and may appear as the seller or merchant of record on your receipt. Their checkout terms also apply to the payment. Our refund and dispute policy explains the seven-day voluntary refund window and your payment dispute rights.
Corrections and rights complaints
For an inaccurate listing, trademark concern, or copyright complaint, email hello@pickopensource.site with the page URL, the material at issue, your contact details, and enough information to explain your request and your rights. We will review it and may correct or remove content. This email is also for purchase support.
Service and responsibility
We may change or discontinue site features, remove unlawful or misleading content, and suspend accounts that abuse the service. The site is provided as available. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. To the extent the law permits, we are not responsible for decisions made from catalog information or for third-party software and websites.
