Data we use

You can browse without an account. If you sign in, we store your email, display name, sign-in provider identifiers, and an account session. If you submit or claim a project, we store the submitted details, claim status, and any screenshot you upload. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email and delivery records. We keep purchase records, including the email, project, product, amount, payment status, and provider payment ID.

We count project views, searches, outbound clicks, and sponsored impressions and clicks to operate the directory and provide paid analytics. Event records can contain a search query or referring page. We do not create a public browsing profile of you or sell your personal data.

Cookies and other storage

Sign-in uses an essential, HTTP-only session cookie that lasts up to 30 days. Your browser also stores your theme choice and may temporarily remember sign-in form entries in session storage. We use request information, including an IP address, for abuse prevention and bot checks.

Services involved

Cloudflare hosts the site, database, uploaded images, analytics, and Turnstile bot checks. Google or GitHub handles sign-in if you choose that provider; Google's favicon service may load a project icon when you view a listing. Dodo Payments handles checkout and payment disputes. Email delivery providers process sign-in and newsletter messages. Those services may receive the information needed to provide their part of the service and apply their own privacy terms.

Retention and choices

Sessions expire after 30 days. Other account, submission, newsletter, analytics summary, and purchase records are kept while needed to run the service, handle requests, meet legal obligations, or resolve payment issues. You can request access, correction, deletion, or newsletter removal by emailing hello@pickopensource.site. We will act on requests subject to records we must retain by law or for legitimate payment and security needs.
